The Ramayana : The Game of Life, Reviewed by Vikram Roy

The Book One, ‘Rise of the Sun Prince‘ was not read by me. I received Book Two ‘Shattered Dreams‘, is a beautiful book. Thanks to team BlogAdda.

Here I want to highlight the pros and cons about this literature and also a month back I read ‘ASURA‘ by Anand Neelakantan, which was very confusing text from the known story of The Ramayana.

Here I need clarification from Shubha Vilas on Bhadra’s version of Ramayana. In ‘ASURA‘, Mr. Anand Neelakantan had mentioned that Sita was Ravana’s daughter, an asura princess! After Mandodari gave birth of Sita, the mystics and visionaries in Lanka advised to kill her immediately because she will bring the misfortune to the Asura race. It was Bhadra, Ravana’s faithful servant who was assigned to destroy the child, but Bhadra did not kill her. He left her by the river bank of Narmada near the kingdom of Mithila. Janaka, the king of Mithila who found her and the rest of the literature followed. I was shocked and very confused about my understanding of Vālmīki’s Ramayana.

I hope my dear BlogAdda team can help me out to reach this communication to Mr. Shubha Vilas to get an answer and remove me out of this confusion. Whether I am not sure, Mr. Anand Neelakantan is true or false.

The Shattered Dreams is the sequel to the Rise of the Sun Prince know as the Bala Kanda in Vālmīki’s Ramayana. Here Dasharatha, the king of Ayodhya in his early gray became less confident to take care of his subjects. He was thinking about the next successor to hand over his responsibilities. We came to know about the beauty of Kaikeyi; her seductive attraction was the weakness in Dasharatha. Because of her Dasharatha was unable to take a decision about Rama, the next successor of Ayodhya. Instead of, Rama was exiled from Ayodhya for 14 years. Rama, who vowed to prove that the truth of his father’s words and upheld the miseries of 14 years banishment from his kingdom.

Rama, a grown up teenager who learned practical lessons from meeting his subjects and wise men. Earlier Rama, who met Sita and won her hands for the wedding at the court of Mithila, after winning the contest about fixing Pinaka, the divine bow (dhanush) wielded by Lord Shiva.

Sita who was devoted and belonged to Rama followed her during the great exile. So did Lakshman, the half-hearted step brother of Rama. All three characters are discussed in this book with scrutinizing their inner souls. It shows the purity, the truth, and love; teach us adopting our personality. Now Rama has to face the destiny. The beginning of an evergreen journey of adventure to conquest.

I do not want to share the secrets over this review as I want readers to explore the Shattered Dreams. Some of the cons about the book has no illustration. Especially I love reading mythologies with illustrations which actually visualise the acts. I also found errors in printing and language. Especially at the beginning of the book up to first 30 pages the flow was not there, later the literature was better and improved. I would like to read The Book One and the next book if I am fortunate to get the copies.
